Make Parameters More Accessible
By Lorraine Dennis of Advanced Design (Camb.) Inc.

If you’re looking for an easy way to gain access to parameter values using 2000i2, try this.

1. Go to VIEW in the menu bar. Scroll down to the Model Tree Setup and then select Column Display. A dialogue box titled Model Tree Columns will appear on your screen.

2. Highlight the Type box, and from the selection picks, choose Model Params.

3. Double click or use the arrows, to add the parameters you want in the model tree. Hit OK.

4. Go to UTILITIES in the menu bar. Scroll down to the Model Tree Settings, then click on Save. The tree.cfg file is now saved in your working directory.

5. Go to UTILITIES in the menu bar again. From the pull-down menu, choose Preferences. In the Option box, type mdl_tree_cfg_file. In the value box, type in the path to your working directory. If you don’t know it, use the Browse button to locate it.

6. Click on the Save As button at the top of the box, and save the file as config.pro. Now your model tree preferences will automatically load when Pro/ENGINEER loads.
