| Open Objects by Drag & Drop in Pro/ENGINEER
In Pro/ENGINEER® 2000i and 2000i2, you can open objects into session by dragging them from a file browser in Windows or Windows NT and dropping them into the current graphics window.
Active Assembly Window
When you drop a part or an assembly file into an active assembly window, the system displays the Confirm Retrieval dialog box.
Choose Assemble to assemble the model into the assembly.
Choose Retrieve to open the model in a separate window.
A part or assembly model can also be dropped into an active interchange assembly.
Active Drawing Window
When you drop a part or assembly model into an into an active drawing window, the system displays the Confirm Retrieval dialog box.
Choose Add View to add the model to the drawing and enter the VIEWS menu.
Choose Retrieve to open the model into a separate window.
Active Window for Importing Models
You can also drop an IGES or neutral format file into an active model. The system will display the Confirm Retrieval dialog box.
Choose Append to add the geometry to the active model.
Choose Create to add the geometry to a new model.
When you drop an IGES or neutral format file into an empty window, the system displays the Import New Model dialog box.
Choose the desired new model type and then select OK.
